I started Gripdivision together with a friend in 2021. Since then it's been a passion project that have taught me a lot about starting a business from scratch. As one of two founders I've been part of driving the whole process from sourcing and developing the socks, to figuring out how to sell them. This page goes through some of the key parts of that journey.
WebsiteThe website is a crucial part of Gripdivision, since 95% of sales are done through there. It was designed for high conversion rates while also standing out from competitors who's using generic Shopify templates. To achieve the desired look it utilizes large, high-quality photos, simple design, and clear typography. To optimize conversions it's clearly showing the main benefits and includes prominent social proof. We also placed helpful details like free returns and shipping times near the "Add to Cart" button to encourage quick buying decisions.
The majority of Gripdivisions customer acquisition are done through Meta ads, thus a lot of time are spent on creating those ads. Trying to find the right angle and selling point is always a challenge, as well as producing it.
During the years with Gripdivision I've come to learn that sourcing and producing textiles are a challenging task that comes with a lot of headache. We began by producing our socks in Taiwan but switched to Portugal, mainly due to problems with long lead times and quality.
